We need to organize your understanding of who God is and what God wants.

This is not something you have to figure out on your own. Some of the greatest minds of the last 20 centuries have struggled with this, and I want to help you learn from them to shorten the amount of time and energy figuring things out on your own.

This is not a journey you have to make alone. In my own life, I never had anyone I could turn to for help. Everything I know about God I learned from reading the Bible and from reading books written by people who were smarter than I was.

Here is a sample of what I found by reading books.

“The study of theology is not merely a theoretical exercise of the intellect. It is the study of the living God, and of the wonders of all his works in creation and redemption. We cannot study this subject dispassionately…our response to the study of the theology of Scripture should be that of the psalmist who said:

“How precious to me are your thoughts, oh God!” (Psalm 139:17)

-Wayne Grudem

P.S. – I have some books that can help provide insight into why this is important. The first book is “The Christ Centered Preaching of Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones.” In the book by Dr. Jones, there is a chapter titled “No Substitute” you can read to learn more about the importance of good theology.

I also want to recommend “The Lord’s Work Done In The Lord’s Way” by K.P. Yohannan, the found of Gospel for Asia, which can also help people understand the importance of learning more about God.
